AYUSH clinics will be open on Thursday across Chhattisgarh state in response to the growth in physical and mental disorders, such as stress, poor sleep, sadness, restlessness, and discomfort in different body parts, which have a negative impact on physical health.

This unique OPD was held at the jointly formed AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, and Homeopathy) centres, which include district ayurvedic hospitals, AYUSH polytechnics, the AYUSH wing, specialty clinics, primary health centres, and government homoeopathic dispensaries. 9078 senior citizens received free care throughout the state; 238 in AYUSH Wings, 167 in AYUSH Polyclinics, 108 in Sian Jatan Clinics of two Ayurveda Medical Colleges organized by AYUSH, five District Ayurveda Hospitals, 350 in Specialized Therapy Centers, and 6080 in Dispensaries and Community and Primary Health Centers. In 1958, co-established AYUSH centres treated elderly patients.

Given the importance of mental health, the health department has begun prompt intervention; as a result, such diseases and disorders, including those affecting physical and mental health would be treated by AYUSH. (ETHealthWorld, Jun 25, 2022)
